Ohio Pride!

Overall, I love where I live (Ohio). I actually get annoyed when people complain about the area because there are so many wonderful things here for me. However, as with almost anywhere, it’s not perfect (and isn’t that usually half the fun?). Not far from me there recently was an incident at an adult store. Oh, I’m sure that there’s always small incidents as I have had a few friends work at similar stores, and they happened to have the best stories. This story is a little different as a man stole a semi truck and then drove it into a sex toy store with the intent of stealing a certain sex toy. I had no idea how far some people would go for their toys!

If you get a chance, check out the news report as I giggled a little (while feeling kind of bad for the guy). Several web sites have posted about the incident, which I find a little funny when sites like Feministing are talking about a town about 30 minutes from me. One of our local news stations posted this story (with a video), saying “Police are looking for the sex crazed loser..” Hey now! I can see degrading the guy because he not only stole a truck but could have injured many people while crashing it into the store. I am a little annoyed that the article refers to the man as a “sexual deviant”. Sure, the guy went a little further than many people might go in this situation, but I’m not sure he’s a sexual deviant (what does that say about the millions of people who buy sex toys – or even the movie coming out about Maggie Gyllenhall and the vibrator?). Sex toys are mainstream. Get over it!
