I originally heard about Objectum-Sexual in a documentary about a year ago, and then a friend posted this article about a woman (one of three in the documentary) who married her long-time love. What makes her any different from, say, my friend Meghan who married her high school sweetheart in October? Well, Mrs La Tour Eiffel married the Eiffel Tower (the article notes that it was a ceremony attended by a “handful of friends”) and has since changed her last name to reflect her union. While it’s not an attraction that works for me, I think it’s a little harsh for the article to refer to this as a “bizarre” fetish – sure, it’s a little out of the ordinary, but I’m not sure I would classify it as bizarre. How about you? Any bizarre (or not so bizarre) fetishes you’d care to admit to? How would you react if a friend invited you to their wedding, to marry an object?
