New “Viagra Condom”

Many men struggle with keeping an erection while wearing condoms, but a new product, dubbed “the Viagra condom,” could help. Despite its name, the condom does not actually contain Viagra. Instead, it’s lined with a vasodilating gel (a gel which dilates blood vessels), which could help men maintain sufficient blood flow to sustain their erections. Public Health experts hope that this new product will encourage safer sex practices for those who avoid condoms because of erectile difficulties. This product is expected to be released in the UK under the Durex brand within the year.

Of course, some questions remain including safety issues for the man’s partner, should the substance come into contact with a woman’s vagina or his partner’s anus. And many people have questions about whether certain people may not be good candidates for the new condom depending on what medications they may be taking or what health conditions they may have.

If you’re not in the UK and don’t want to wait for these guys to come to your local drug store, there are lots of other ways to help overcome this challenge. Check out this list of tips on maintaining an erection while using a regular condom.
