I just read a study that compared the effectiveness of two treatments for premature ejaculation (PE; also called “rapid ejaculation”): an anti-depressant (which some docs have been prescribing for PE over the past few years) or yoga. Seriously. And guess what? Both groups showed significant improvement in their PE. If this doesn’t drive more men to yoga classes, I’m not sure what else will.
In addition to yoga and certain anti-depressants, sex therapy (aasect.org to find a therapist near you) can be helpful for men with PE as can reading books and trying out the exercises within (including the stop-start and squeeze techniques) such as Coping with Premature Ejaculation: How to Overcome PE, Please Your Partner and HAve Great Sex (authors: Michael Metz and Barry McCarthy and How to Overcome Premature Ejaculation (Helen Singer Kaplan).
