According to this article, medicare may begin to cover STI/STD testing for the elderly. This is a great step towards a more inclusive view of sexual health, as the elderly population is often overlooked when it comes to sex. Though it may be hard for some of us to believe, old people get their groove on too and are just as susceptible to sexually transmitted infections! The new coverage would include tests for hepatitis B, syphilis, and some others, and may also include sexual health counseling.
