How to talk about sex including the “What’s your number?” conversation

Recently Men’s Health writer Abby Lerner interviewed me for a piece she was writing about how men and women can talk about tricky – sometimes emotion-wrought – sex conversations such as what someone’s number is (aka how many people they’ve slept with), how to talk about STIs and whether one’s potential partner has been tested, how to talk about experimenting in bed and more. The full article is now online and you can read it on the Men’s Health web site (click here). I think she did a great job of helping to bring clarity to an often challenging area… and she did it with a bit of fun too. Plus, I learned who LaDanian Tomlinson is! (Thanks, Abby!).

In related sex news, I also recently contributed to the IU Active for Life newsletter and blog for a piece about how re-thinking sex rules can lead to better sex. You can read that piece here (as well as a bit from the archives about sex toys and health/communication issues – click here for that). The newsletter also highlights a range of other people’s work related to sex, gender and romance – read it on the IU site here.
