Located in Sonoma County, California, Fountaingrove Lodge is the first-ever LGBT oriented retirement community. It’s amazing to me that this hasn’t been thought of before, but, well, I can’t complain now! Though the center has only had a “model” grand opening, 50% of the units have already been reserved.
At Fountaingrove, you can find:
- a pool
- a Bocce court
- a pet park
- an art studio
- a wine “cave” and cellar
- both a formal and a private dining room
- a bank
- a salon and spa…
…among many other things. And don’t worry, a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment only sets you back 4 grand a month. Spend my days as an old queer getting my hair done with a bunch of other femmes? Count me in (once I hit the big bucks, of course).
