Ever hear of glitter as a form of political activism? I hadn’t, at least until I read an article on Columbus Go Home about a group of people who showed up at Marcus and Michele Bachmann’s reparative therapy clinic, hoping that they too could have help in praying away the gay. Marcus Bachmann has referred to anyone who is gay as “barbarians that need to be disciplined”, and some activists decided to show up and ask for some discipline.
After requesting to speak with Marcus Bachmann personally, and not being given the opportunity, they decided to sprinkle around some glitter and chant “You can’t pray the gay away – baby, I was born this way!” One of the glitter barbarians, Nick Espinosa, stated “Michele and Marcus Bachmann think gay people are barbarians? I think its clear to everyone who the real barbarians are, based on the Bachmanns’ archaic views on LGBT equality.” Columbus Go Home posted a You Tube video of the event here: Glitter Barbarians from Columbus Go Home
