Q&A: Can Chocolate Make Semen Taste Better?

Someone recently asked me (on NYC’s Moms Like Me board) whether chocolate can make men’s semen taste better. With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I thought you might be interested. Here is my response:

“Unfortunately we know very little about foods and taste of ejaculate. There have been no good scientific studies on the topic for good reason – can you imagine trying to set up an experiment where you have men eat certain foods and then have random “taste testers”? :) Things would get tricky very fast. So we don’t know if chocolate would help, though I hadn’t heard that one before. Often I get people asking questions about pineapple, kiwi or other sugary/watery fruits and whether they will help. The honest answer is: we don’t know, but if you want to try it on your partner, go for it! Keep us posted!”

Hey, it would be an enjoyable experiment for everyone involved to see if chocolate changes the tatse!

From my experience, ice cream has a very noticeable effect on the taste of my partner's semen, and he's told me that it affects the taste of mine too.

either Pineapple or celery work very well to sweeten the taste. Foods such as asparagus, coffee, and meats should be avoided.
