This morning I taped nine (!) new Kinsey Confidential podcasts with our wonderful producer, Annie. Unlike other mornings, we had a special guest join us in the studio today. Bernard Gordillo surprised me by showing up to take photos of the process (see more after the jump).
It was a fun morning for him to be there as it was full of the normal number of bloopers including a particularly good one about vaginas smelling sour (if Annie ever makes a bloopers reel like she sometimes threatens to, I think this will be one of my favorites).
I get kind of nervous in the studio. I almost always have tea or water with me as my voice gets hoarse at some point. I clench my hands together in my lap (see photo below), as I try so hard to not touch the papers or anything else and inadvertently make noise in the background. And sometimes in the midst of reading the questions we’ve been sent and the responses I’ve written I come up with other thoughts or ideas and change a few things… which, you can imagine, makes for an interesting time. Lucky me that Annie is (a) patient and (b) a good editor.
