Self Loving In The Animal Kingdom

My friend Sarah recently linked me to an article from Live Science on why animals evolved to masturbate. The article includes information beyond just masturbation on ten animals, including monkeys, squirrels, and elephants. A fact that caught my attention was that an elephant penis can be as large as five feet, and is shaped like the letter “S”.

Not to leave out the female elephants, the article mentions that a female’s clitoris can be more than a foot long. It also features turtles, and calls their self-lovin’ “rampant turtle masturbation”. Some people might be jealous of dogs – as many people are aware, they can easily reach their mouths to their genitals.
