OhMiBod Better Than Chocolate Review

Thanks to the lovely folks over at Babeland, I recently received my very own OhMiBod Better Than Chocolate vibrator. OhMiBod and Nomi Tang teamed up to make this vibe one of the best and most creative out there. As those of you that have read my other reviews know, my mind works in lists. So, here are my pro and con lists. Continue Reading →

How To Put On A Mediocre Sexuality Event: Sexpo Melbourne 2010

As I walked into the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, my hopes for the 2010 annual Sexpo were high. I saw lots of vanilla-looking over-50s and leather-clad 30-40-somethings, along with the scantily clad 20-somethings I was expecting. This apparent diversity was exciting! Perhaps Sexpo would be even more than I had hoped? Continue Reading →

Ophoria Beyond One G-Spot Vibrator

Once again, thanks to MSP blogger Garnet Joyce, and the fabulous people over at, I recently received my very own Beyond One G-Spot Vibrator by Ophoria. Overall, this toy wasn’t my personal favorite, but I figured I’d give all of you a list of pros and cons anyway so you can decide whether or not you want to try it for yourself. Why I liked it: Continue Reading →

New Data on Women’s Use of Lubricant During Sex

Our research team at the Center for Sexual Health Promotion has just published a new study about lubricant use – actually, the largest ever study of lubricant use among women during sex – in the Journal of Sexual Medicine. Given how mainstream and easily available lubricants are in the US, one might think there had been more scientific research on their use, but sadly this is not the case. Continue Reading →

Love U Parties Shutting Down

Sex toy parties are pretty common things now a days. A group of (usually) women  gather together to giggle and fondle sex toys in the comfort of a friend’s home while a sales person discusses their wares. These are much like candle parties and Tupperware parties, but are usually a lot more fun. There are several companies that do this and they’re mostly pretty similar. The products they sell are usually the same types and qualities and they promise their sales people houses, cars, and big money. Continue Reading →

The Buzz About Maggie Gyllenhaal

I couldn’t resist the pun. It looks like one of my favorite actresses, Maggie Gyllenhaal, is filming a movie titled Hysteria, about the invention of the electric vibrator to treat women for the medical-condition-of-the-time, hysteria. According to an article in the Guardian, the film will also star Hugh Dancy, Rupert Everett and Gemma Jones. I’m particularly interested to see the movie as the article says that it’s supposed to reflect one of the screenwriter’s “appreciation of British comedy and of Monty Python in particular.” Can’t wait. Sex Toys To Avoid: Phthalates

Phthalates are chemicals used to soften plastics and are used in many products such as shower curtains, vinyl flooring, tupperware containers, children’s toys, and sex toys. They’re all around us. The issue with phthalates is that they don’t actually bond to the plastics they are mixed with which causes them to leach into the environment all around us. They get into the food we eat and the air we breathe. Increased levels of phthalates have been shown to be linked to wheezing, allergies, asthma, autism, organ failure, issues with hormone production, and cancer. Continue Reading →

Sex Toy Review: Orgasmic Bliss Vibrator

Receiving the Orgasmic Bliss was quite exciting for me. I approve of sex toys in general, but don’t have that much experience with different kinds of vibrators. So, here’s to excitement and adventure and my first sex toy review. Materials, Cleaning, & Care
The Orgasmic Bliss is made of 100% silicone and it feels pretty nice. It isn’t a hard toy and the bumps on the outside will give a little under pressure. Continue Reading →

Sex Toys to Avoid: Vaginal Tightening Creams

Vaginal tightening creams, which are also often marketed as “virginity” creams, rely on the fear that if a woman has had “too much” sex (how much is too much exactly?) or has had one or more babies that her vagina gets stretched out and therefore is not as pleasurable for her partner during intercourse. This is basically poppycock, but I’ll get to that in a minute. Continue Reading →
