Mr Clean Tells Women What Really Matters

What is with some advertisements? I get it, stereotypes and sex sell. I fully admit, I have no experience in advertising, but I am constantly intrigued by ads. One of my first posts here was about an ad, specifically one that insinuated using a “feminine wash” would help boost confidence (related: “feminine washes” are not necessary and can actually cause more issues than good!). One of my friends pointed out an ad she found on Tumblr from Mr Clean that showed women where their place really is – cleaning, of course! Apparently, Katie found this in the weekly advertisements. I’m sure Mr Clean products are great, but on Mother’s Day, how thrilled would you be to get cleaning products, and then back to the job that really matters?
