According to a CNN article, adult DVD/video sales may be down due to both economic issues as well as the wide availability of free video on the internet whereas toy sales may possibly be somewhat steady (a familiar storyline but one that’s difficult to prove given that most adult companies are private).

    This probably is true. I have bought a magazine or a DVD from the adult bookstore perhaps only 3 times in the last 6 years. The free photo samples and video samples on the web are enough to keep a person stocked up for life.
