I read what the cleric said. This sort of reminds me of my first and only visit to a Pentacostal church. (I am not religious.) The preacher asked for members of the church to give a testimony of the mighty power of God in their lives.

This homeless guy stood up and began to tell us how some guy once tried to steal his donut. The thievery was prevented by yelling “By the power of Jeeeesus you will not touch my donut!!” Miracle of miracles!!! God’s miraculous power kept that guy from stealing his donut.

Maybe that homeless guy moved to the Middle East and became a cleric.
