About My Sex Professor

MySexProfessor.com is a media company that produces text, video and photographic content related to sex, sexual health and relationships.

We aim to help people learn how to have better sex and optimal sexual health and pleasure. Toward this goal, we want you to have top-notch information about sex, your body, other people’s bodies, communication, relationships, tips, tricks, techniques, gender, sexual orientation, sex research, health and wellness, and the latest and greatest sexual enhancement products.

MySexProfessor.com was founded in 2007 by Debby Herbenick, PhD, MPH, a Research Scientist at the Center for Sexual Health Promotion at Indiana University, a sexual health educator at The Kinsey Institute and author of several books about sex and love including Because It Feels Good: A Woman’s Guide to Sexual Pleasure & Satisfaction, Read My Lips: A Complete Guide to the Vagina and Vulva, The I Love You More Book, Great in Bed, and Sex Made Easy: Your Awkward Questions Answered for Better, Smarter, Amazing Sex. Staff and Contributors

From 2007 to August 2010, Dr. Herbenick was the sole blogger on MySexProfessor.com. As of August 2010, we’ve been fortunate to have additional bloggers join the team.

Every one of our bloggers brings a unique perspective and expertise to MySexProfessor.com. Our blogging team includes a sex research scientist/author/columnist, sex educators, and scholars who study various aspects of sex and/or gender through the lens of public health, folklore, or health promotion, undergraduate students who focus on sex and/or gender issues in their studies, and more.

Founding Editor & Editor in Chief: Debby Herbenick, PhD, MPH is a Research Scientist at Indiana University, a sexual health educator at The Kinsey Institute, a widely read sex columnist and author of Because It Feels Good: A Woman’s Guide to Sexual Pleasure and Satisfaction, Read My Lips: A Complete Guide to the Vagina and Vulva, The I Love You More Book, Great in Bed, and Sex Made Easy. 

Managing Editor:

Kate McCombs is a sex educator, blogger, and speaker, specializing in sex-positive and pleasure-inclusive approaches to sexual health promotion. She’s originally from California, but moved to Australia to get her Masters in Public Health at the University of Melbourne, which she completed in 2011. In addition to facilitating workshops, Kate works as a teaching/research assistant and guest lecturer for the School of Population Health at the University of Melbourne. She’s also the founder of sexgeekdom.com, a website designed to bridge the gap between online and real-life community for sex educators, researchers, and others who might identify as sex geeks.

Contributing Writers:

- Craig VanKempen is a sex educator, researcher and therapist in the Midwest.

- Holly Moyseenko Kossover is a graduate student at Kent State University, studying human sexuality and women’s health issues.

- Jeana Jorgensen, PhD recently completed her doctoral degree in folklore and gender studies at Indiana University. She studies fairy tales and other narratives, dance, body art, feminist theory, and gender identity.

- Madeline Haller is a graduate of Indiana University, a writer living in Pennsylvania, and a lover of all things creative, educational, feminist, and sex-positive.

- Michaela is a senior in college studying human sexuality and anthropology. When she’s not blogging, you’ll catch her crafting, cooking, or working at a baby boutique. She hopes to one day be a sex therapist.
